The OTP Group Reinforces its Partnership with Judo

The development of the OTP Group is characterised by dynamism, which is also an essential value for success in the world of sport. Therefore they support numerous successful sports clubs, public sporting events and popular sports that require physical and mental strength and stamina, a high level of concentration and well-organised teamwork. OTP Group’s focus is on promoting a healthy lifestyle, the development of generations, and the creation of opportunities.

The OTP Group has been supporting judo and the International Judo Federation (IJF) for several years. The OTP Group is therefore proud to announce that from 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2025, they will contribute actively to the realisation of competitions organised by the International Judo Federation, including the World Judo Tour 2025.

Beyond the all-year-round partnership, three competitions will benefit from special attention from the OTP Group in 2025:

  • The Tashkent Grand Slam will take place from 28th February to 2nd March 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
  • The World Judo Championships will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from 13th to 20th June.
  • The World Cadet Championships will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 27th to 31st August 2025.

Thus the first event supported by the OTP Group is the Tashkent Grand Slam, which will take on a new dimension. For many years, the Tashkent Grand Slam has earned its letters of nobility, making it a major event of the World Judo Tour. As a new Olympic cycle begins, which will guide the best judoka on the planet towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, the grand slam in Uzbekistan officially becomes the 'OTP Group Tashkent Grand Slam.’

Uzbekistan is a country of judo, attached to the values conveyed by the sport. The country, which has seen strong development in many sectors in recent decades, has become a major player on planet judo. With world and Olympic medallists in numbers, Uzbekistan has proven its ability to structure itself and create the necessary conditions for the emergence of great athletes. The latest is Diyora Keldiyorova, who won the Olympic title in Paris in 2024, becoming the first woman in any sport to reach the top of Olympus for Uzbekistan.

The OTP Group support will help to develop the spread of the judo and its values further through individual and mixed team competitions.
