Governance Task Force
The Governance Task Force (GTF) was created in November 2015, following an ASOIF Council decision and discussions about governance at the IF Forum earlier that month. The GTF is mandated with helping International Federations IFs to promote and ensure a culture of good governance within their structures.
Members of the group are:
- Jean-Loup Chappelet, Professor at the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP), University of Lausanne (UNIL)
- Benjamin Cohen, Director General of the International Testing Agency (ITA)
- Ingmar De Vos, President of ASOIF, President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI)
- Pâquerette Girard Zappelli, IOC Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer
- Alexander McLin, Director of the Gymnastics Ethics Foundation (GEF)
- Denis Oswald, Director of the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES)
- Hitesh Patel, Executive Director of the Sport for Development Coalition
- Snežana Samardžić-Marković, former Director General of Democracy, Council of Europe; Independent Senior Expert for Human Rights in Sport
- Andrew Ryan, ASOIF Executive Director
The GTF has developed a full set of governance principles and indicators tailored to the specific characteristics and needs of sport organisations. This mechanism helps to jointly evaluate the current status of each Summer Olympic International Federation and regularly monitor progress.
